Signing off :(

So here is the last blog! Its been quite stresful getting everything done! I'm pleased that i get to rest but im also happy that i took media because the work that we ended up producing was actually really fun and the final product for me was quite impressive!

Question 4: What have you learned from your audience feedback?

To get audience feed back, i emailed some images from the video to some friends and family and asked for a response.

Here is an email i sent out asking if they could send me some feedback.
This is what i got
from my audience feedback i learnt that we either not done the green screen, or spent more time editing for hte green screen to work. I learnt that this is the part that let the video down a bit.
I think with a bit more time we could have made it a lot better.

I also learnt from my audience feedback that it was mostly men who responded to me about it, this leads me to believe that we made it suitably for the target audience.

we also filming someone in our class, i do not have the video but i think it is up on the blog somewhere.

Question 2: How effective is the combination of your main product (video) and ancillary texts (digipak and advertisement)?

Goodbye.

This is my last blog and I won't lie and say I'll miss it. It's been stressful keeping up with the blogs!!!! and I wouldn't want to do it again. However I've lovedddd studying media! I think its such an enjoyable subject and I had great fun making a thriller and a music video!

Goodbye blogger.

FINAL VLOG

Question four: what have you learned from your audience feedback?

At the cinema's the audience seem to have responded to our video quite well as it received a nice round of applause. However I think the audience were quite baffled in a sense that they wasn't familiar with the song and possibly the genre as its not well known like songs of the pop genre! So they possibly didn't link the song or understand how the video related to the song. Compared to the other music videos with well known songs that got better responses. I think it could possibly been our song choice that they didn't like but they seemed to have enjoyed the video overall!

To get further information on what people thought of our video I put a link on my facebook along with a link of survey monkey where I created a survey for them to answer about how they liked it.

From my first response, they mentioned about the effects. Whilst editing we came across issues when we added too many effects and our artist would end up having stars on her face or being blurred out, we did try to fix this and changed it so it didn't look so obvious. However the audience still picked up on this so in the future I think when adding effects we should be careful that we don't get carried away with it. Also the fact that they said they didn't expect to see a girl singing in the video makes me think that maybe there are conventions of a dubstep video and that people would much prefer not to have an artist in the video. In the future if I ever make a music video and the genres dubstep I shall bear that in mind!!

My second respondent seemed to have enjoyed it also. But this respondent feels like anything can be used in a dubstep video, which I believe to be true, you can add a load of things that range from cigarettes to fireworks and still make it look good. I learned from both the responses that people make different opinions and you can't please everyone. As we had to use an artist because that was part of our work, if I was to do another dubstep video I wouldn't use an artist as I believe dubstep is more about the music! I think there are different expectations for different genres, so when you do a specific genre its important to check what is expected of that particular genre.

Survey monkey also allowed to convert my results in to quantitative data. And my two respondents chose yes to enjoy my video. YAY!

I emailed my friends my advert and digipak and asked for feedback on what they liked and what could be improved upon. One responded and said that my products were a little plain, I have to agree that my products are plain and I kept it quite simple and if I had time to add more I would have added an artistic element such as the pattern I was talking about in my mock up. Especially looking at other dubstep products they have quite amazing patterns on them. However she did say the use of the colour red stands out so that's a good thing!

Question 3: how did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
