'Three music videos for influence'/Idea's for Intertexuality

Rihanna "We found Love"
After last lesson, our group came up with a lot of location idea's and themes for our new song "VIP Love" by   Skit who is an Unknown Dub step band. I'm really pleased with the song choice and would like to share some intertexuality idea's for our music video:

The first video for me which came to mind when hearing our new song was the video to Rihanna's hit "We found Love". Me and Sabina then went on to watch a few of her video's and was inspired by a few things in them:

Here is the opening shot to "we found love" and we thought that this was a good fit for our theme of London. It looks urban yet it is not too amateur.

We were discussing the use of colour that we wanted to present in our videos and how we wanted it done. I think the reason we related a lot of idea's around this video is because the Location is Urban London, it has a very "real" feel to the video yet as i mentioned earlier, it remains to be professional and not amateur looking.
So the use of colour in the video works really well and would like to take inspiration and maybe use some for audiences to recognize (intertexuality).

Whilst me and Sabina were looking at this video we was looking for good movement shots to put down as inspiration for our video and we both agreed that a moving roller coaster like the Waltz would be good. This is also used in "we found love" As it spins around and the camera stays still. We know this would be incredibly hard to pull off but we put it down for inspiration anyways. we are also aware that we would need to do safety precautions which we will be assessing in our Hazards post.

We have done a good bulk of planning in our last lesson, and as i'm watching the video back i am seeing a lot more of idea's that we said we would use. Things like close ups and ideas in general. We wanted to do some close ups on lips and eyes and in the video a few times this shot is shown:

Although this music music video is not in the same genre, i used it as it has got the same kind of base line and feel to it. The dubstep genre does not really have any music videos anyway.

Beyonce "Run the world"

I think the camera angles used in this video are very interesting and they keep this music video very engaging. I think the main reason they do work though is because they have such a huge cast, so obviously we would not be able to use idea's for this as it would not look as good but the camera angles i do think we could try ad take inspiration from.

Not only was it the camerawork i found very engaging but also the mise en scene in this video for me was so amazing and i hope we will be able to try our hardest to interpret in our own way this type of display. The costume was a good way of getting across the feel. The colour scheme they used was mainly browns and dark greens which obviously is very natural and wild. But to back this up they also used props and animals which were quite obscure and stood out but fitted perfectly.

The Prodigy "Smack my b*tch up"

This was actually one of the very few videos that i found which i believe would actually really appeal to our target audience. It has most elements of their lives although the song isn't completely in the genre.

I really liked how this video started out as it all in the camera shot "POV" so your constantly intrigued. It follows the night out of a typical guy going out on a Saturday night and it really stood out as a music video to me, mainly because of how different it was with using POV all the way through.
