Recap; First lesson

This blog is just to recap on the first lesson we had on music videos. we learnt that the function of  music video is mainly to

• Promote the artist
• Promote the song

We learnt that the aim of music video's not only to keep existing fans satisfied, but also to gain possibly more and also span out to other areas of audiences. 

We learnt about how genre of the song is represented through the music video. this can be done using all four technical elements of film. Mise-en-scene is a huge part of how to fit in the music with a video in the right genre. Things like props and location can represent the song hugely so artists take time to get this right so that the song, and themselves can get promoted to a larger audience.
