Our Song.
Last class, we had to choose which song we wanted to use for our final music video. We originally had a song but we couldn't do it because the band, Arcade Fire, was Canadian. However I've just found out the remix we wanted to do is remixed by a woman who is Norwegian by blood, but has been signed in the U.K as well. Does that count? This is the remix, but the remixer is Mr. Little Jeans. We were all disappointed that we couldn't use that song since we liked it so much, but we all agreed that we definitely wanted a dubstep song, so we spent the next half an hour trawling through songs on Youtube and our iPods.
After much debate, we settled on the song "On A Mission" by Katy B. Unfortunately though, as the weekend has passed, I'm feeling rather sad at this song choice, and I think that tomorrow, I'm going to ask if we're allowed to change our song. The song is okay, but I don't think the beat's got enough going for it, and the mood board that we did is excellent and completely encapsulates what I think would make an excellent music video, the only thing is I don't think it's very fitting for our song. I know we're supposed to do the mood board BASED on the song, but in this instance, the mood board is great, and the song, not so much.
So I'll have to check it up with Rebecca on Monday if the remix would be possible. If not, I really want to try and change the song. I have a few other songs in mind. Not to mention, when we picked the song, a member of our group wasn't there, and she may have another idea. If it can't be changed, it can't be changed, but I want to ask anyway because I'm just not satisfied with the song choice at all. I think our group has a lot of potential and would work a lot better with a different song. Anyway, I'll have to see about that tomorrow.
